2655. Adulteration of butter. IT. S. v. 34 Tubs of Butter. Default decree of con¬ demnation and destruction. (F. D. C. No. 5717. Sample No. 56955-E.) On August 26, 1941, the United States attorney for the Eastern District of New York filed a libel against 34 tubs of butter at Brooklyn, N. Y., alleging that the article had been shipped in interstate commerce on or about August 15, 1941, by the Harding Cream. Co. from Kansas City, Mo.; and charging that it was adulterated in that it consisted in whole or in part of a filthy, putrid, or decomposed substance. On January 31, 1942, no claimant having appeared, judgment of condemna- tion was entered and the product was ordered destroyed.
