NOTICE OF JUDGMENT NO. 2770. (Given pursuant to section 4 of tbe Food and Drugs Act.) U. S. v. F. A. Burnham. Plea of guilty. Fine, $40. ADULTERATION OF MILK. On June 8, 1910, the United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, acting upon a report by the Secretary of Agriculture, filed in the District Court of the United States for said district an information against F. A. Burnham, Hampton, Conn., alleging shipment by said defendant, in violation of the Food and Drugs Act, on November 13, 1909, from the State of Connecticut into the State of Massachusetts, of a quantity of milk which was adulterated. The product bore no label. Examination of a sample of the product by the Bureau of Chem- istry of this Department showed the presence of an excessive number of bacteria. Adulteration of the product was alleged in the infor- mation for the reason that it consisted in part of a filthy, decomposed, and putrid animal substance.
